The Power of Scent

Lavender, "The Universal " Essential Oil

According to The Reference Guide for Essential Oils, by Connie and Allan Higley, the essential oil of lavender has the following properties:
analgesic, anti-coagulant, anti-convulsive, anti-depressant, anti-fungal, antihistamine, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antitoxic, cardiotonic, regenerative, and sedative.
I love it most for it's calming effect when I'm stressed, for the relief I experience when I stub my toe or have a sunburn, and from keeping a blister from filling up with fluid. You have to put it on as soon as you feel the burning of the blister coming on, but I've kept more than a few away by doing this after a long hike.
